Rates and Policies
$80 per hour lesson and $40 per half hour lesson.
Rates are the same for in-person or Skype lessons.
Payment is due at the time of the lesson or before.
Please contact me to ask about rates for workshops, presentations, clinics, topical lectures, masterclasses, or double/group lessons (see bottom of FAQs page for more info on double and group lessons).
Some people prefer to pay at each lesson, others pay several lessons ahead so they don’t have to deal with money every time. I’m fine with either of these methods. I keep track of all payments and will remind you when you owe next if you choose to pay in advance.
I currently do not accept credit cards.
Cancellations are understandable from time to time. If you need to cancel please try to let me know by at least 48 hours before your lesson, and more time is appreciated if possible. I can often fill an empty spot if I know about it with enough notice. If you cancel within 48 hours before your lesson, then I ask that you be prepared to pay for it in full. This is standard policy for appointment based services and I appreciate your understanding.
Cancelations don't personally bother me at all as long as the policy is understood. Alternatively you can try to reschedule instead of cancel. At this time I do not charge any fees for late reschedules (see below). Last minute cancelations due to situations that are truly out of one’s control, such as emergencies, will not be charged for.
Reschedules can be tricky because I usually don’t have very much extra availability. I do my best to be as accommodating as possible. If you need to reschedule, and there's a time that works, then I’m happy to do it. Please use my online booking system to reschedule a lesson. At this time I do not charge any fees for last minute reschedules.
If you are late and I do not have another student right after you then I’m happy to teach you for an hour (or half hour) from when you arrived. If I do have another student scheduled immediately following your lesson (and I often do since I teach lessons in blocks), then unfortunately the lesson will be shorter than your allotted time.
I teach lessons in blocks back to back. Even though your lesson is scheduled for a 60 minute or 30 minute session, please expect and allow for a natural amount of transition time between lessons.
